Sabrix Architectural Overview
The Sabrix Solution enterprise transaction tax management software is a highly scalable and reliable centralized taxing service for all business applications that need tax determination, calculation and recording. The Sabrix Solution is based on three-tier architecture, built on industry standard J2EE technology and object oriented design principles.

The Sabrix Solution is based on three-tier architecture, built on industry standard J2EE technology and object oriented design principles.
The Sabrix Solution Application Server: The J2EE application server is an application platform for business applications that adhere to published J2EE guidelines. The Sabrix Solution is J2EE industry standard compliant. The Application Server can reside on the same computer as the database or on a separate computer on the same network. Additional Application Server instances can be added to the network to enhance scalability — all sharing the same The Sabrix Solution Database. Instances can also be configured in a cluster to provide failover for high availability.
The Web Container and Enterprise Java Bean (EJB) Container reside in the application server. The Web Container listens for both transaction traffic and user interface traffic and routes the data to the appropriate recipient. The EJB Container houses the Sabrix Universal Tax Engine where all transaction tax determination and calculation is performed. The Sabrix Universal Tax Engine is a Java application.
The Sabrix Solution Application Server components are certified on BEA WebLogic 7 SP1 or SP4, Oracle 10g Containers for J2EE (OC4J) and IBM WebSphere 5.1.
The Sabrix Solution Database: The Sabrix Solution Database stores all data including company and tax configurations, audit data, and U.S. and International tax rates and rules. This database can be dedicated to the Sabrix Solution or shared.
The Sabrix Solution Database components are certified on Oracle RDBMS 9i, DB2/UDB 8.1 on AIX and SQLServer 2000 SP3. All components of the Sabrix Solution are certified on the following operating systems: Windows XP SP1, Windows 2000 Server, Windows NT 4.0 SP6, HP/UX 11 or higher, Linux, AIX 5L v5.2, and Sun Solaris 2.6 or 2.8.
